Vino de la Terra de Castilla y Leon Terreus Paraje de Cueva Baja Bodegas Mauro 2004
The wine
Terreus is produced from a single, three-hectare vineyard parcel with very soft, clay and sand-rich soil. After 24 months of maturing in French oak barrels, the wine is very fruity and expressive with a silky texture and a welcome fresh quality. This is a very pleasant wine to drink with tender meats cooked in sauce.
About the Producer Mauro
Bodegas Mauro was founded in 1978 with a philosophy of producing wines for cellaring in limited quantities. The vines are a powerful reflection of the Castilla y Leon terroir, but retain a fine richness. Located fewer than 20 kilometres from Valladolid, near Tudela de Duero, and virtually surrounded by the eponymous river, these 70 hectares of Tempranillo and Syrah are cultivated without the use of pesticides. The wine owes its character to the very continental climate of the region, with its cold winters and hot summers, and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night.
