Autriche Kracher TBA N°2 Zweigelt Nouvelle Vague L11A 2011
The wine
This Austrian vineyard has real expertise in producing sweet wines. This 100% Zweigelt, a red variety, has been vinified and matured in new wood for 15 months. As a TBA, it is classified as a wine with the highest concentration of residual sugars under the Prädikatswein system. This wine reveals unbelievable aromatic complexity with its notes of quince jelly, dried raisins, prunes, red fruit jam and sweet spice. The palate is creamy with considerable persistence.
About the Producer Kracher
The Kracher domaine has earned an international reputation for the quality and sophistication of its sweet wines and has become the standard bearer for Austrian vineyards. Three generations of winegrowers have worked since 1928 to produce consistently excellent sweet wines. It is located close to Neusiedl lake where the climate is propitious to the formation of noble rot. There is a wide range of wines and different vinifications are offered, even for wines of similar sweetness. The wines very clearly reflect the know-how handed down from one generation to the next with an enduring love of wine. They are all perfectly balanced, rich and wonderfully aromatic.
