Rioja San Vicente DOCA 1999
The wine
One of the property's great wines, San Vicente is a pure Tempranillo Peludo – a legendary historical variety that has become extremely rare due to its low yields. After manual harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted, one by one. Elevage then lasts for 20 months in new French oak barrels. This fleshy, fragrant wine requires a sufficient period of keeping before being decanted into a carafe and served at ambient temperature. This wine is ideal when paired with game (both feathered and non-feathered).
About the Producer San Vicente
Situated in the heart of a small village in the Rioja region, the Senorio de San Vicente winery has been owned by the Eguren family for five generations. This commitment to producing superb wines from vanishing indigenous grape varieties such as Tempranillo Peludo helps this winery stand out from the crowd.
