Lot presentation

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Lignier-Michelot (Domaine) 2009

The wine

Virgile Lignier represents the 3rd generation at the head of the domain. He pays particular attention to respecting the identity of each climat. Located in the village of Morey Saint-Denis, the domain produces wines for keeping, with very noticeable tannins, but not too much.
The appellation Clos de la Roche is one of the grands crus of Morey Saint Denis , exposed to the East and enjoying a truly exceptional climate. Maison Lignier-Michelot produces a Clos de la Roche with a garnet hue. This cuvée develops wonderful floral aromas as well as woody notes. The punchy tannins melt over time, taking us towards a spicy universe. As it ages, the “hunting” fragrance prevails, with aromas of moss, leather and game. To echo its fleshy structure, this wine pairs perfectly with flavoursome meat, like a doe fillet with ceps.
