Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle Confuron-Cotetidot 2019
The wine
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot's Gevrey-Chambertin cuvée is produced with meticulous care from low yields. The wine is subject to a long cask élevage, and consequently boasts excellent, concentated substance. It is marked by a subtly floral nose, tending towards liquorice notes. There is no mistaking the refinement of its tannins, which mellow gracefully with age. "Very well balanced overall, with an exemplary purity", according to Bernard Burtschy.
About the Producer Confuron-Cotetidot
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
