Barolo DOCG Monvigliero Fratelli Alessandria 2011
About the Producer Fratelli Alessandria
Fratelli Alessandria is a family-run estate in the heart of Verduno, north of Barolo. It was established at the beginning of the 19th century, and in 1893 it was taken over by the Alessandria family through marriage. Today the legacy is immortalised by Gian Battista, along with his wife Flavia, his brother Alessandro, and his son Vittore. The domain stretches over 16 hectares in one of the most beautiful vineyards in Verduno and Monforte, with a majority of Nebbiolo vines, but also Dolcetto, Barbera and the more restricted local variety Pelaverga. Chardonnay and Favorita vines dominate the white varieties. The Alessandria family recognises that great wines come from great vineyards, and they do everything possible to care for and preserve the terroir both in the vineyard and at the winery. For Vittore Alessandria, the essence of the domain can be summed up in three words: quality, passion, emotion, and his goal is to sing the “song of the terroirs”. This domain produces wine using only their own grapes, offering a selection of Barolo, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto and Langhe wines in the true Piedmont tradition. These wines are refined, elegant, remarkably delicate, and will age splendidly over many years in a cellar.
