Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Talmettes Simon Bize & Fils 2017
The wine
This cuvée comes from a high-altitude terroir and is defined by its clay-chalk soil. Its subtly brings together a certain aromatic power with beautifully fine tannins. This is a wine to be enjoyed after a bit of ageing with tender dishes.
About the Producer Simon Bize et Fils
Simon Bize created his domaine in 1880 in Savigny les Beaune. Four generations later, Patrick Bize took over the family domaine in 1972 and managed it until he passed away in 2013, when his sister, Marielle Grivot, took over. The quality of the wines is consistent, with fine reds, sublime and very precise white wines. This 22-hectare area produces small quantities and maintains reasonable prices, which therefore limits its availability.
