Coteaux du Languedoc Château Puech-Haut Prestige Gérard Bru 2007
The wine
A blend of Grenache and Syrah cultivated on clay-limestone soils with ‘galets’ from the Rhone river. The grapes are cultivated traditionally and carefully, and the wine was vinified in concrete vats and raised in barrels of 1 to 2 wines. Its ruby robe gives off notes of undergrowth, raspberry, kirsch and plum. The palate is intense and complex. To release its full potential, we recommend opening it at least two hours before serving.
About the Producer Château Puech-Haut
Gérard Bru bought this wonderful property in 1981 and began reconverting it after a brilliant career in the industrial sector. His love for the land was passed down to him from his grandfather aho also gave him a taste for hunting and grape-growing in the Minervois. This passion was reinforced by his father who worked at the l'Ecole nationale Supérieure Agronomique of Montpellier. When he arrived, there was not one vine stock. From 1996 to 2006, Michel Rolland worked with the domain giving vinification advice. Today the hectare is composed of no less than 165 hectares.
