A marvellous red Cahors, produced in a terroir similar to that of Pomerol. At once complex and harmonious, this is a rare gem.

Cahors Clos Triguedina Probus Jean-Luc Baldès 1994
The wine
Prince Probus, Clos Triguedina’s Cuvée Prestige is produced using 100% Malbec from the domain’s best exposed, half-century-old vines. The domain uses tillage, low-intervention pest management, severe pruning, low yields… in other words, meticulous grand cru-worthy work which culminates in a quintessential expression of Cahors. With a deep, dark colour, black fruits and subtle woody aromas, this cuvée is wonderfully complex, long and harmonious on the palate. Need we say more?
About the Producer Clos Triguedina
étienne Baldès planted his first Cahors parcels in 1830. Six generations later, Jean Luc Baldès has masterfully raised the family domaine to the top level of the Cahors appellation, constantly introducing innovative production techniques. Located to the south of Cahors, near Puy l'Evêque, the domaine is nestled between the meandering river Lot and spreads over 70 hectares. Its clay-limestone soil, similar to Pomerol's soil composition, is perfect for producing great vintages.
