Meursault 1er Cru Charmes François Mikulski 2013
The wine
Les Charmes is a very typical Meursault climat, with silty soils above limestone rocks. It produces marvellously sappy wines. On the nose, this cuvée offers attractive lactic aromas, flowers and light spicy notes. The palate is very fruity, built around a pleasant tension and ending in a mineral, peppered finish. This is a wine that can take four to five years to reveal its full potential, and is a good pairing for various types of fish and poultry.
About the Producer François Mikulski
François Mikulski created his domaine in Meursault with his wife Marie-Pierre in 1991. The vineyard consists of four plots of premier crus (Genevrières, Charmes, Poruzot and Goutte d''Or). Great attention is paid to the vineyards which are managed in an environmentally friendly way. Wines mature for 16 to 18 months in the barriques, of which rarely more than 20% are new. The whole range has great quality, offering depth, complexity and finesse.
