Barolo DOCG Bricco Boschis Cavallotto 2010
The wine
Ever since the 1950s, the traditional Canallotto estate has been delivering a splendid version of Barolo. The Nebbiolo vines are cultivated organically and benefit from an ideal south-west to south-east exposure. Nestling at an altitude of 350 metres, the vines, planted since 1971, sit at the heart of a typical Langhes amphitheatre. The harvested grapes undergo natural fermentation triggered by native yeasts. The cuvée is then aged in large oak casks for around 50 months before being bottled and left to rest for a further year before being ready to drink.
The dark, concentrated colour reveals a rich, generous bouquet, with aromas of undergrowth, wild berries and nutmeg mingling with subtle hints of liquorice. The full, generous mouthfeel reveals elegant tannins leading to a finish that reveals the most authentic and profound expression of the Cavallotto terroir.
