Sancerre La Croix du Roy Lucien Crochet 2018
The wine
This cuvée is a blend of several parcels of Pinot Noir. It is matured in casks (75%) and stainless-steel vats (25%) for 11 months, then matured in vats for a further 12 months. This wine offers aromas of small red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) and toasted notes. On the palate, the texture is splendid and the tannins silken.
About the Producer Lucien Crochet
Domain Lucien Crochet is a family domain that has been handed down from generation to generation. Lucien Crochet combined his father's domain with that of his wife's father, Lucien Picard, who was in fact one of the first in the Sancerre region to bottle his own wines. The vineyard spans 38 hectares: 29 of Sauvignon and 9 of Pinot Noir. One of the appellation's flagship names.
