Sancerre Les Calcaires Lucien Crochet 2020
The wine
This wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc grown on plots of chalky soil. The domain opted for harvesting by hand, delicate pneumatic pressing, and fermentation in stainless steel and oak barrels. In the glass it has a pale appearance and exudes notes of white fruit and blackcurrant. Its mineral palate has citrus notes and a finish carried by sophisticated bitterness. All of these assets ensure superb pairings with fish or goats cheese
About the Producer Lucien Crochet
Domain Lucien Crochet is a family domain that has been handed down from generation to generation. Lucien Crochet combined his father's domain with that of his wife's father, Lucien Picard, who was in fact one of the first in the Sancerre region to bottle his own wines. The vineyard spans 38 hectares: 29 of Sauvignon and 9 of Pinot Noir. One of the appellation's flagship names.
