The wine
Gevrey-Chambertin Village is élevaged in oak barrels for between 12 and 16 months (with between 30 and 50% new wood, depending on the vintage). It is characterised by rich, fruity aromas and a powerful mouthfeel, yet with a certain refinement. This wine goes well with many meat dishes (beef, pork, game).
About the Producer Harmand-Geoffroy
Gérard Harmand now runs the Harmand-Geoffroy family domaine, whose creation dates back to the 19th century. The vineyard covers a little less than 10 hectares in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, with a majority of premier crus and a grand cru, the Mazis-Chambertin. The vines are relatively old (about fifty years) and the cultivation is conducted in a sustainable manner. The quality of the wines has progressed well in recent years, they are harmonious, with body and intense fruity aromas.
