Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Jean-Jacques Confuron 2010
The wine
Clos de Vougeot presents a complex nose with fruity aromas and intense peony notes. The palate features plenty of richness, good acidity and a silky body. This wine will require 7-12 years' aging before it reaches its peak. It makes an excellent accompaniment to red meat and game.
About the Producer Jean-Jacques Confuron
The Confuron domain was taken over in 1988 by Alain and Sophie Meunier. Situated at Premeaux-Prissey very near to Nuit-Saints-Saint-Georges, the domain belonged to Sophie's father. They decided to convert to organic viticulture. Today, the vineyards count 8 hectares and produce 12 Côte de Nuits appellations. Among them are included the prestigious Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Clos de Vougeot and Romanée Saint-Vivant Grands Crus. Since 2003, horses are used to work the domain's oldest parcel, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, which is 80 years old.
