Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Pierre-Yves Colin Morey 2010
The wine
Pierre-Yves Colin Morey's Corton-Charlemagne is quite simply sublime - especially after it has been aged for a few years. It has the potential to age for approximately 15 years.
About the Producer Pierre-Yves Colin Morey
Created in 2005, the Pierre-Yves Colin Morey domaine extends over 6 hectares on the Saint Aubin and Chassagne-Montrachetet appellations. After learning about his father's domaine (Marc Colin), Pierre-Yves decided to start his own domaine with his wife Caroline Morey. Mentioned by the specialised press as one of the "most gifted winemakers of his generation" (Revue du Vin de France), his wines, mostly from Chassagne, Meursault and Saint Aubin, must be discovered. Pierre-Yves Colin runs this small domaine with his wife Caroline, completing the production by buying grapes (one third of the volume). In the vineyards, responsible and sustainable farming prevails and in the winery, vinification needs little intervention. One of the strong points of this field is the élevage, which is mainly in demi-muids and is very subtle. This name, widely recognised by fans and professionals, is undeniably a safe bet!
