Vouvray Sec Domaine Vincent Carême 2008
The wine
Produced from old vines located in the communes of Vouvray and Noizay, growing in mostly flinty clay soils, this dry Chenin is the result of a blend of wines matured in casks that are several years old. This dry, well-balanced Chenin wine, with its aromas of white fruit and citrus on the palate, is a worthy representative of its variety.
About the Producer Vincent Careme
Located in Vernou sur Brenne, in the heart of the Vouvray appellation, domain Vincent Carême was founded in 1999. The 14-hectare vineyard was planted entirely with Chenin by Vincent Carême and his wife, who have practiced organic farming since 2007. In the winery, vinifications are carried out in barrels and casks, using solely ambient yeasts; the wines are then matured for 12 to 18 months in vats? The vineyard now spans just over 17 hectares. A flagship domain in Vouvray.
