Saumur Les Cormiers La Porte Saint Jean 2013
The wine
Renowned for its perfect balance between delicacy and aromatic power, this Cabernet-Franc's charms include its silky tannin texture, aromatic freshness, and cellaring potential. One thing is certain: protracted ageing in the domaine's cellars has played a significant role in adding lustre to this complex wine produced by a rising star of the Loire region.
About the Producer La Porte Saint Jean
Sylvain Dittière learnt the ropes with influential winemakers: from Gauby to Thierry Germain, Château Yvonne and finally Clos Rougeard. It's therefore natural that this talented producer – son-in-law of the late Charly Foucauld – set up shop in 2011 in Montreuil-Bellay. He chose the domain for its very cool cellars, ideal for long élevages. He makes red and white wines which showcase the purity of his fruit and masterful élevages.
