Lirac L'Anglore 2019
The wine
A blend of three grape varieties (Grenache, Mourvèdre and Clairette) grown on the limestone soils of the Lauzes hills, the profile of this wine is at once frank and indulgent. Its intense fruit and stunning freshness for a wine from this appellation result in a highly sought-after wine. Eric Pfifferling harvests the grapes by hand in small wooden baskets before macerating the whole bunches for two weeks. The wine is then matured for 18 months in demi-muids.
About the Producer L'Anglore
Domaine de l'Anglore is a flagship natural domain of the moment. The estate spans 4 hectares in Tavel, renowned for its rosé production, and is managed by Eric Pfifferling. This former apicultor turned to winemaking after seeing his bees die because of the insecticides used in the region. He practiced biodynamic viticulture right from the beginning: the soils are tilled so as to preserve the natural balance between roots and 'weeds'. His rosés are considered among the best in the world.
