Arbois Vin Jaune Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois 1979
The wine
Aged for six years and three months - as stipulated by the appellation's specifications - this vin jaune presents a golden hue which exudes a complex and powerful nose. Here, both on the palate and on the nose, typical notes of walnuts, spices such as saffron and curry and citrus zest abound. Try the regional pairing with a mature comté or a Bresse fattened chicken with morels.
About the Producer Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois
Created in 1906 by 26 producers in Arbois, Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois is a response to the crisis caused by phylloxera. At the time, the wine market was experiencing the full impact of mediocre wines without appellations. This group of winemakers wanted the true quality of their vines and wines to be recognized and so fought to have an appellation in 1936. This collectivity has been based in Arbois since 1969 and has a winery and top-quality material for vinifications. Respectful, environmentally friendly viticulture is chosen. Today, the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois spans 250 hectares and produces more than a million bottles of wine per year.
