Château la Fleur de Gay 1989
The wine
La Fleur de Gay is the domaine's grande cuvée, designed to rival the icons of Pomerol. The wine is produced from a plot of very old Merlot vines, located between Petrus and Lafleur. 18 months' ageing in new barrels results in a fruity wine with great purity and a wonderful richness. Very aromatic, intense and full-bodied, the wine reaches maturity after between five and twenty years, depending on the vintage.
About the Producer Château la Fleur de Gay
Château Croix de Gay is a small 4-hectare domaine in the heart of Pomerol. The domaine is now in the hands of Chantal Lebreton. The property produces a wine named Fleur de Gay using the best Merlot vines. An absolutely exceptional Pomerol.
