Corbières Boutenac La Voulte-Gasparets Cuvée Romain Pauc Patrick Reverdy 2012
The wine
The cuvée Romain Pauc is aged in cask wood oak barriques for 12 months (20% new). On the nose it is intense and very fruity with flowery notes. There is fine volume on the palate, freshness and well-coated tannins.
About the Producer La Voulte-Gasparets
Château La Voulte-Gasparets in Boutenac, in the Corbières appellation, has been owned by the Reverdy family for six generations. Today, Patrick and his son Laurent manage the 55-hectare domain. The vineyard includes sublime old Carignan and Grenache vines, along with some Mourvèdre and Syrah for the reds. Rolle, Grenache and Maccabeu are vinified to produce the white wines. The wines are of consistent quality, and all age gracefully; one of the appellation's benchmark domains.
