Chinon Les Picasses Olga Raffault 2008
The wine
Les Picasses is the domaine's principal cuvée. It has a long maceration lasting between 25-30 days before its maturation in 40-50 hl barrels for a period of 12 to 16 months, depending on the vintage. To taste it provides candied fruit aromas with a deep, intense structure on the palate. This is a wine with great ageing potential which marries perfectly with red meat, game and strong cheese.
About the Producer Olga Raffault
Lying in the Véron commune, between the towns of Saumur and Chinon, Domaine Olga Raffault has belonged to the family for four generations. Today Slyvie and her husband Eric de la Vigerie are in command of the 24 hectare vineyard where they grow AOP Chinon. They produce delicious wines: at once savoury, silky and structured.
