Lot presentation

Côtes du Jura Mémé Marie François Rousset Martin 2018

The wine

With this cuvée, François Rousset-Martin pays homage to his paternal grandmother. This is a ouillé (topped-up) wine made from Chardonnay and Savagnin, the latter of these being the Jura’s landmark varietal, making up 15% of this blend.
This is the only cuvée from this domain that isn’t matured in a cask (aside from the 2018 vintage). The domain puts ‘non-interventionism’ at the heart of its work, which doesn’t stop François Rousset-Martin from producing wines that are more than original. Matured for two years, this cuvée isn’t racked and no sulphites are added to those that naturally exist in the grape.
We recommend cooking a homemade pie to serve with this lovely wine.

About the Producer François Rousset-Martin

Originally from the Jura, François Rousset-Martin took up the family domain in 2007. Trained in oenology and biology, he began by working closely with the local cooperative, to which he entrusted part of his production. Today, he vinifies his 10 hectares himself, much to our great happiness. A Savagnin specialist, François manages to express all his passion through the wine he produces, and this with a non-interventionist approach. His cuvées are single-parcel and coveted in all four corners of the world. Japanese wine enthusiasts are particular fans of Jura wine because of the ‘umami' flavour it is said to have. So you might have to fight to get your hands on one of these precious bottles.
