Bourgueil Clos Nouveau Domaine du Bel Air 2012
The wine
Clos Nouveau comes from a limestone-rich terroir covered with a fine layer of clay. After two years of maturation in previously used barrels, the wine has an intense ruby colour and offers up powerful notes of very ripe black fruits and pepper. The clean, juicy and delicate texture has a mineral backbone and firm, elegant tannins for structure. This wine will benefit from a few years ageing in the cellar.
About the Producer Domaine de Bel Air
It was in 1995 when the owner Pierre Gauthier produced his first vintage in this domain of the Loire valley. Over time, he achieved a solid reputation thanks to his work and his profound wines. Today he is assisted by his son Rodolphe and both insist on applying methods which respect the environment.
