Minervois La Livinière Le Viala Gérard Bertrand 2012
The wine
Viala was first produced in 1997 in the well-known terroir of La Lavinière. The Grenache, Carignan and Syrah grapes which compose this wine are the beneficiaries of an exceptional, sunny terroir surrounded by scrubland. The resulting wine reveals itself with real depth in an expressive register. Connoisseurs will also detect notes of thyme, laurel and peppermint in their glass. Full bodied and powerful, it has a long finish with licorice notes.
