Château de Myrat 2ème Grand Cru Classé 2001
The wine
Myrat produces a really fine classic Barsac. It is balanced on the nose and delivers aromas of exotic fruits encompassing notes of wax and honey. On the palate it is well-rounded with moderate luscious sweetness and lovely freshness. This is a Barsac to be enjoyed after 5 to 15 years of aging
About the Producer Château de Myrat
Myrat is a second Cru Classé in the 1855 classification of Sauternes. Located on the limestone plateau of Barsac, on the opposite side of the Ciron, it can lay claim to both appellations. The Pontac family, renowned in Bordeaux, have carried out major work so that the cru will regain its rank. The vineyard was completely replanted in 1988. Thus the vines have satisfactory age and produce superb wine. One to be watched for value in the appellation.
