Lot presentation
Château le Bon Pasteur 2009
The wine
The wine’s color is a beautiful purple, an intense bouquet releasing red fruit aromas. On the palate, it has a supple attack; it is suave with a nice body while remaining balanced. Bon Pasteur has the peculiarity of being attractive when young but also of aging gracefully.
About the Producer Château le Bon Pasteur
The Château Bon Pasteur is a 15 hectare property located in the small village Maillet in Pomerol. When the Rolland family acquires it, this part of the appellation is not one of the most famous ones. It was not until the end of the 1970s, when Michel Rolland arrived at the domain, that this wine really gained notoriety. It was even at Bon Pasteur that Michel Rolland completed his vision of winemaking. The progress is immediate with a recipe that he will apply in the many properties that he will advise: grapes harvested very mature, controlled maturing and very limited yields. In 2013, the castle was sold to a Hong Kong consortium. But Michel Rolland continues to follow the vinification closely.
