Château Potensac 2010
The wine
The wines produced are perfectly rich, dense, with blackcurrant fruit and with notes of cedar and spices. This cru bourgeois would merit the classification of fifth cru classé due to the exemplary regularity of the quality of the production. Moreover, it was awarded the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the Crus Bourgeois classification in June 2003.
About the Producer Château Potensac
Located in Ordonnac in the Médoc, Château Potensac belongs to Jean-Hubert Delon, also the owner of the famous châteaux Léoville Las Cases and Nénin. The vineyard extends over 84 ha, on limestone soil, covered by gravelly-clay slopes. Some plots were planted over 80 years ago and the entire vineyard is worked in an environmentally friendly way. The grape variety spotlights the Merlot (46%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), with also a little Cabernet Franc (16%) and rarer still, Carménère (2%) and finally Petit Verdot (1%). This property produces one of the best wines of the Médoc appellation, with a very interesting price-quality ratio.
