Barolo DOCG Riserva Bussia Prunotto - Antinori 1998
The wine
This 100% Nebbiolo varietal was produced at Domaine Prunotto, which was founded by Alfredo Prunotto at the beginning of the 20th century. Known as one of the leading estates in the heart of Piedmont, it is simply a must-taste and a must-see! A magnificent amphitheatre-shaped vineyard is home for these vines, which face south and southwest.
Once harvested, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Maceration of the skins lasts 8 to 10 days before fermentation. Aging takes place in oak barrels of different sizes, for 18 months.
In colour, it’s ruby red, with hints of a darker garnet. On the nose its floral with red fruit aromas and added spice. On the palate, it is intense with a pleasant finish.
