Grande Réserve Gosset
The wine
This non-vintage brut champagne is blended from three regional varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The berries are harvested by hand and vinified by the traditional method; and the wine is matured for at least three years. The final product offers up notes of very ripe fruits, dried fruits and sweet, gingerbread-like spices. The texture is rich and beautifully taut.
About the Producer Gosset
Gosset, whose ancestors have lived in Aÿ since 1484, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne (created in 1584 by Jean Gosset). Béatrice Cointreau passed the domain over to her brother Jean-Pierre in 2007. Gosset's speciality has become vinous, intense and powerful champagnes which age majestically. This is particularly true for their brilliant vintage cuvées and the cuvée Célébris. The house launched a new cuvée in 2007, a blanc de blancs with remarkable tension.
