Côte de Brouilly Vieilles Vignes Georges Viornery 2005
The wine
It is the oldest vineyard in Beaujolais (dating back to the 12th century), with an exceptionally good orientation on the steep slopes of Mont Brouilly. The subsoil consists of granite and schist, enabling the production of rich, full-bodied, deliciously fragrant wines. These distinguished wines, with a purple-crimson colour and aromas of fresh grapes and irises, need to age for a few years before they develop their full elegance on the palate.
