Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Confuron-Cotetidot 1998
The wine
Clos-de-Vougeot from Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot is a superb wine. This deep and ripe Pinot has aromas of red fruit and violet which develop towards musk and leather over time. The sublime palate is concentrated and softly fruity.
About the Producer Confuron-Cotetidot
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
