Vin de France Terret Blanc Domaine Léon Barral 2001
About the Producer Léon Barral
In the early 1990s, Didier Barral moved into the family domain, which was at that time run by his father. His ambition was already to create a great wine: one that was mature and rich, but still well balanced. The wines always benefit from great acidity. The domain is run organically, and sulphur dosage is minimal. There is a burst of fruit on the palate; and after aeration, the wines reveal themselves to be well made, with great personality. Its vines grow in 25 hectares of schist hillsides and slopes sheltered by the Cévennes foothills. Didier Barral likes to say, "We start making wine when the blade of the secateurs touches the wood for the first cut." The quality of his wines is directly attributable to the quality of his work in the vines.
