Morgon Delys Daniel Bouland (Domaine) 2017
The wine
The idea of this Morgon cuvée is to vinify some particularly old vines planted back in 1926. The producer is well aware of the specificities of this parcel, especially the evolved, earthy aromas that give it an identity of its own. These vines undergo gobelet pruning, as is traditional in Beaujolais. The tangled nature of the roots makes it impossible for a tractor to pass, so all the work here is carried out by hand. The grapes get a lot of sun, making them quite concentrated, and the yields are managed in a natural way. This concentration is sensed as soon as the bottle is opened.
When tasting this wine, you’ll find good balance, a wine marrying complexity and harmony. It has a fruity and floral nose and a generous palate. We recommend serving it with a dish like veal and mushrooms.
About the Producer Daniel Bouland
The Domaine Daniel Bouland is located in Corcelette in Beaujolais, between Villié-Morgon and Chiroubles and consists of eight hecatres of beautiful terroir and old vines. Daniel Bouland comes from a family of winemakers and the family estate is shared with his brother Raymond who produces in Villié-Morgon. Daniel Bouland's wines are characterised by their body and their beautiful intensity of fruit while their minerality subtly reflects the terroir. Good wine at an interesting price!
