Sancerre Clos la Neore Edmond Vatan 2003
The wine
Clos de la Néore is one of the most famous Sancerres, offering aromas of white fruit, citrus fruit and pineapple, as well as pebbly, herbaceous and aniseed notes. On the palate, it is crystalline, very pure, ethereal, perfectly balanced and lingers well.
About the Producer Edmond Vatan
Domain Edmond Vatan is located in Chavignon. The domain produces only 4,000 bottles per year. Vatan is considered one of Sancerre's mythic winemakers, with almost 60 vintages to his name. The parcels of Clos La Néore are located to the south the Les Monts Damnés. The vines are south-facing and grow on Kimeridgian limestone. The Vatan family gets the very best out of this exceptional terroir, achieving a wonderful expression of Sauvignon Blanc.
