Meursault 1er Cru Perrières Henri Germain 2002
The wine
This Meursault premier cru has a clear, gold colour, and an aromatic bouquet marked by notes of citrus, fern, and dried fruit. The supple palate is underscored by a pleasant acidity which gives it a freshness and a good cellaring potential. The nicely bitter finish means that interesting gastronomic pairings can be made.
About the Producer Henri Germain & fils
Jean-François Germain forges the long tradition that precedes him with fervour and passion. His father Henri was modest, but he made a name for himself in Meursault thanks to his perseverance and exemplary work. The family owns 8 hectares of vines, making the wines especially coveted. It is recommended to leave them to age for some years due to their style. Produced in the pure tradition of the region, these wines can be somewhat austere in their youth, but they open up after a few years, revealing all the secretes of the Côtes de Beaune's finest Chardonnay.
