Château Clarisse - Vieilles Vignes 2014
The wine
The Clarisse Vieilles Vignes cuvée is deep and intense. During the first two years, it only expresses half of its potential. But the grain and complexity of this wine are already surprising. It is perfect after maturing 5 to 10 years.
About the Producer Château Clarisse
Didier le Calvez usse to run the Bristol and his wife Olivia had opened the first Relais & Châteaux 5 stars on the Ile de Ré. In 2009, they decided to invest in 5 hectares of vines next to Saint-Emilion to create a new chateau. The soil is very promising. They are advices by Stéphane Derenoncourt for vinification and knowing the terroirs. 30 distinct plots are identified and vinified separately. The vines are treated with responsible agriculture. A lot of progress has been made since and the wines are now well established at the top of the appellation.
