The wine
The region’s granitic terroir provides the Syrah vines the ideal conditions to extract all the nutrients they need to thrive from the soil. In the vineyard, chemical fertilisers and weedkillers have been rejected in favour of precise, meticulous work on the soil following organic viticultural principles. The whole hand harvested grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation triggered by naturally yeasts. No sulphur is used during the vinification process. Lastly, the cuvée is bottled without fining or filtration.
The ruddy colour reveals a powerful bouquet, bursting with wonderful aromas of blackcurrant, medlar, poached fruit and spices. The delicate, silky palate offers fine tannins perfectly balanced by a luscious, slightly acidulous texture. The flavoursome, lingering finish promises excellent ageing potential. This cuvée is highly sought-after on account of its aromatic expression and limited production.
