Pommard Albert Bichot 2019
The wine
A famous village from Côte de Beaune, Pommard offers wines that are tannic and powerful. Its nose has a woody aroma that develops fruitier notes of red fruit and spices. Its tannins are delicate with a pleasant minerality and plum aromas. Alongside red meat or cheese, it will be able to show its full power. It can be kept for between three and five years.
About the Producer Albert Bichot
Albert Bichot is an illustrious maison of Burgundy. The family settled in Burgundy in 1350 but it was only in the 19th century that it became interested in the vine and vineyards. In 1831, Bernard Bichot developed a trading house in his name. Since 1996, Alberic Bichot (6th generation) has been working to raise the quality of wines produced. He acquired many plots, meaning that the maison now has 100 hectares of vineyards. Here we find the Clos Frantin on the Côte de Nuits, the Domaine du Pavillon and the Domaine Adélie on the Chalonnaise coast as well as the Domaine Long Depaquit in Chablis. These wines are certified as organic. At the same time, the maison carries out its trading business by purchasing only carefully selected grapes. The wines are all vinified in Beaune under the leadership of the very talented Alain Serveaux.
