Barolo DOCG DOCG Riserva Vigneto Rocchette Accomasso 2008
The wine
This cuvée is made from the Barolo appellation’s emblematic varietal, the Nebbiolo grape. This Italian wine comes from domain Lorenzo Accomasso in La Morra, Piedmont. The terroir here is rich in clay, and the vineyards are worked traditionally, by hand. With very little intervention, the vinification takes place with indigenous yeasts and a minimal amount of sulphur. This cuvée is made in modest quantities. In the glass it has an orange-red hue, and it has aromas of leather, dried rose, herbs and forest fruits on the nose. It persists on the palate, carried by earthy notes. This is an exceptional cuvée that balances the elegance and character of the Nebbiolo grape. Serve it at 18°C with grilled beef, veal or roasted duck.
