Ombrie Campoleone La Fiorita Lamborghini 2004
The wine
This wine will require aeration for a few hours prior to drinking. After that, this black-coloured wine will reveal a distinguished nose with notes of black berries, spices and roasting (coffee, woodiness) and mineral touches. The palate opens into refinement, while at the same time demonstrating a good tannic structure. It is velvety and creamy, yet dominated by a welcome acidity required to ensure its potential for keeping.
About the Producer La Fiorita Lamborghini
Located in Umbria in southern Tuscany, this domaine was acquired in the 1960s by Ferruccio Lamorghini, who was travelling in the region. He decided to give up the automobile industry and go back to the land. He allocated 30 hectares of the 100-hectare estate to vines. They consist of local grapes such as Sangiovese, and international varieties including Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the 1990s, his daughter Patrizia took over the helm and devoted herself to producing high-quality red wines.
