Quarts de Chaume Château de Suronde 2002
The wine
The Quarts-de-chaume of château Suronde is a single Chenin grape variety, hand-harvested by successive triage until the end of November. Suitable for keeping for several decades thanks to its fine concentration of sugar and élevage in barriques for 18 months, it unfurls a beautiful golden hue and an aromatic bouquet of extraordinary richness. Notes of exotic fruit blend with those of yellow fruit, Mirabelle plum and vanilla. Creamy and mouth-watering, the palate is balanced by acidity that gives it energy and persistence.
About the Producer Château de Suronde
At Château de Suronde, Francis Poirel produces organic wines by strictly controlling yields in order to obtain great concentration and explosive complexity. Lovers of sweet wine the world over remark upon the absolute focus of these wines which have huge ageing potential. The domaine was taken over by Guillaume Mordacq and Jean-François Vaillant in 2005.
