Barbaresco DOCG Cottà Sottimano 2004
The wine
One of the domain's finest cuvées, from vines situated just above the domain, aged between 50 and 70 years. The resulting wine is generous, opulent and impressively complex.
About the Producer Sottimano
Rino Sottimano acquired this domaine in 1975 and was joined by his son Andrea in 1994. The domaine places a great emphasis on tending its vines and cultivating its various terroirs organically. Combining tradition and modernity, the domaine ages its wines in barrels, following the Burgundy method (20% in new barrels), rejecting large barrels as incompatible with the ethos of the domaine. The wines are not filtered or fined.
