Château Verdignan Cru Bourgeois 1989
The wine
With great cellaring potential, Verdignan's wines have firm, rounded tannins and present a rich harmonious ensemble on the palate, leaving the taster with a feeling of balance and fullness. The property was promoted to Cru Bourgeois Supérieur status in the June 2003 revision of the 1932 classification.
About the Producer Château Verdignan
Particularly well positioned on a slope overlooking the Gironde, this very old Médoc property has an exceptional terroir that consists of dry, clayey Garonne gravel. Rigorous selection combined with ageing in new barrels have helped to elevate Château Verdignan into the ranks of the best crus bourgeois. The estate's second wine is named Plantey de la Croix.
