Chassagne-Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Joseph Drouhin 2004
The wine
Domaine Marquis de Laguiche has been operated by Joseph Drouhin since 1947, but its roots are much older: the two-hectare vineyard has been in the hands of the Laguiche family since 1363. Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Marquis de Laguiche undergoes 12 months of barrel élevage with 20% new wood. It is a beautiful, very harmonious cuvée. The nose evokes hawthorn, apricot, grapefruit, blond tobacco, and vanilla. On the palate, it displays richness, a silky body, very fruity flavours and exceptional length.
About the Producer Joseph Drouhin
Founded in Beaune in 1880, the Joseph Drouhin house is now run by the four children of Robert Drouhin. Present throughout Burgundy, but also in the United States in Oregon, its reputation is worldwide. It also has a domain of its own, including a vineyard of 72 hectares.
