Pouilly-Fuissé Vers Pouilly Cordier Père et Fils (Domaine) 2006
The wine
Christophe Cordier owns vineyards in some of Pouilly-Fuissé’s greatest terroirs, with varied soils which confer a unique expression to each cuvée. In Vers Pouilly, marl dominates, resulting in lactic, rounded wines. After manual harvests and gentle pressing, the juice ferments with ambient yeasts. It is then raised in barrels for 12 months. This ripe Pouilly-Fuissé is characterised by its opulence and richness. When tasting, the nose reveals chalky, smoky notes, as well as hints of white fruits, citrus and exotic fruits. The mouth is ample and generous. This wine is clearly made to be paired with fine foods and can be enjoyed either now or after a couple of year’s aging, with white meats in a creamy sauce and butter-based cuisine.
