Château Haut Gros Caillou 1982
The wine
This wine is a blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc from vines aged nearly 30 years. It is vinified in stainless steel which helps to conserve freshness and purity of fruit. Delicate and with an aromatic elegance (ripe fruits, spices), this wine is one for the dinner table.
About the Producer Haut Gros Caillou
Château Haut-Gros Caillou is located in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation, a stone’s throw from the prestigious Château Monbousquet. In 1991, key figure of garage wines Alain Thiénot bought the estate. Dourthe joined the Thiénot group in 2007, contributing his viticultural and enological expertise. The domain spans seven hectares of vines planted on soils of silica and gravel.
