David Croix produces a very well-balanced Corton-Charlemagne, faithfully representing the terroir of the Corton mountain, with a due southerly exposure. Elevage is in 50% new barrels, which gives it a great elegance. Neither too acidic nor too rich: a delight, and its runaway popularity in the US market is no surprise.

About the Producer Domaine des Croix
David Croix was the winemaker at the famous Camille Giroud house in Beaune for nearly 15 years. In 2011 the business was bought by the American Ann Colgin, a winegrower at the top of the Napa Valley, with a financial backer. While working for Camille Giroud, in 2005 David Croix created his own impressive personal domain, with private capital from rich American wine enthusiasts, who gave him "carte blanche" as the director of the fledgling Croix domain. The domain's parcels were concentrated around Beaune, with numerous premiers crus, but also the neighbouring appellations of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. Although not certified, his wines are close today to the greatest organic names and his microcuvées sell like hot cakes around the world.
