Meursault Arnaud Ente 1993
The wine
Arnaud Ente is a winemaker who keeps himself to himself - though perhaps not for much longer! He grows his 4 hectares of vines with his wife and just two workers. His remarkable work has been recognised since he was elected ‘Man of the Year’ 2013 by Bettane and Desseauve. In his method, he has stayed loyal to the Burgundian tradition. It is not by accident that this wine has been chosen for the prestigious Master Class. In the words of Michel Bettane, ‘Arnaud Ente has reached a level of mastery in viticulture and vinification that make me think his wines to be the most accomplished in terms of balance and work in all of Burgundy, and even the world’s best in terms of Chardonnay. He has exceptional talent.’ It couldn’t be clearer that Arnaud Ente is an absolute favourite of Michel Bettane’s.
About the Producer Arnaud Ente
Arnaud Ente is a small winemaker (but not for long!) who cultivates his 4 hectares of vineyard with his wife and just two wine-growers. His remarkable work has been hailed as he was named "Man of the Year" 2013 by the Guide Bettane and Desseauve. His work remains extremely faithful to the Burgundian tradition. It is no coincidence that this wine was chosen for this prestigious honour. According to Michel Bettane, "Arnaud Ente has achieved mastery in viticulture and winemaking. I think they are the most successful Chardonnays in terms of overall balance and work, in all of Burgundy, and maybe even worldwide. He is an exceptional talent". We get it: Arnaud Ente is Michel Bettane’s real favourite
